How it works
How CloudQA Works: Architecture and Workflow
Record a user journey once with the CloudQA Recorder, keep it in a reusable test library, and let the CloudQA cloud run it for regression testing, synthetic monitoring and load testing, with results sent where your team works.
What happens inside CloudQA
CloudQA is made up of focused components that each do one QA job well.
CloudQA Recorder
A Chrome extension that records even complex web application workflows as you click through them. It works with modern client-side technologies such as Angular, React and Ember, Telerik controls, Shadow DOM and iframes.
Test library and visual editor
Recorded steps become readable, reusable tests. Add assertions, waits, variables, data sets or a custom JavaScript step, and save common sequences such as login as modules.
CloudQA cloud
Runs your tests in real Chrome, Firefox and Edge browsers, in parallel, on demand, on a schedule or from your CI/CD pipeline through the CloudQA APIs. Runs are deterministic; self-healing only steps in after a step fails, and every recovery is reported for review.
Reports and alerts
Every run produces a step-by-step report with page performance metrics. Failures reach the right people in tools such as Slack, Jira, email and Microsoft Teams.
One recording, three ways to protect your application
Regression and functional testing
The core CloudQA platform. Recorded workflows run as automated tests on every release, and each run also captures page performance metrics.
Synthetic monitoring
Key user scenarios run periodically against your live environment, so you see when performance degrades at certain times of day or when a critical flow breaks.
Load and performance testing, on request
Available as a service. CloudQA opens many virtual browsers and runs a mix of your scenarios in a short period, showing how your servers cope and where their breaking point is.
