The Missing Piece of Your Regression Suite
For too long, test automation has had a blind spot. You test the UI, you click “Generate Invoice,” and then… you hope for the best. Or worse, you pay a human to manually open, read, and verify hundreds of files.
That ends soon.
CloudQA is building a native PDF Testing Engine designed to treat documents as data, not just files.
What You Can Expect
We are removing the complexity of file validation. No generic OCR libraries. No managing local “Download” folders. Just seamless, end-to-end verification.
1. Zero-Touch Interception
You won’t need to write scripts to find where a file was saved. CloudQA will capture the PDF directly from the browser stream the moment your test triggers the download.
2. “Read” Like a Human, Verify Like a Machine
Our upcoming engine parses the PDF to identify text blocks, tables, and images.
- Content Verification: Assert that the “Total” on the PDF matches the “Checkout” value from your web application.
- Layout Protection: Ensure that a code deployment didn’t push your logo off the page or break the formatting of a critical table.
3. Dynamic Data Validation
Static checks aren’t enough. You will be able to pass variables from your web test—like Order_ID or Customer_Name—and verify that exact dynamic data appears correctly inside the generated document.
Why We Are Building This
Manual PDF checks are the ultimate velocity killer. They are repetitive, prone to human oversight, and often skipped entirely due to time constraints.
Our goal is simple:
- Eliminate Data Mismatches: Ensure your database and your documents speak the same language.
- Test Complex Tables: Scan thousands of rows in an invoice in seconds.
- Block Bad Builds: If the financial report is wrong, the pipeline should fail.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will it handle dynamic data? Yes. At launch, you will be able to use variables from your web test assertions to verify dynamic fields within the PDF.
Does it support multi-page documents? Absolutely. You will be able to set rules for specific pages or scan the entire document to ensure headers, footers, and page numbers are consistent.
What about images and logos? Visual validation is a core part of the roadmap. You will be able to verify that logos, signatures, and QR codes are present and rendered correctly.
